Monitoring of oil slicks at sea
Automatic oil slick detection service in the maritime zone, along the coast, around platforms, on the edge of reserves... An automatic algorithm distinguishes between natural slicks (oil seepages) and pollution caused by platforms or deballasting (oil spills).

Within the framework of the GMES & Africa program, the SEFAC (Suivi et Évaluation des Forêts d’Afrique Centrale) consortium has developed the CAFWS (Central Africa Forest Warning System) platform for monitoring deforestation in sites provided by users. The monitoring is performed in near-real time, as soon as the Sentinel-1 radar satellite observations are made available by the European Space Agency (ESA).
In the framework of the GMES&Africa programme, VisioTerra supported AfEOS in the development of indicators, dashboards, periodic bulletins and configured a datacenter for the Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS).
